Tenth day of October, Boeing HorizonX – the venture capital division of Boeing – announced the investment in Accion Systems. Thus, the company wants to accelerate the process of developing the propulsion system for satellites in low and medium earth orbit and in deep space.

Space propulsion TILE from Accion must increase the service life and maneuverability of satellites and other spacecraft. TILE is used in nontoxic ionic liquid rocket fuel and engines the size of a postage stamp. The company claims that this system is smaller, lighter and cheaper than traditional ion engines.

Company Accion was founded in 2014 by two engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of technology. The last three years she has received annual contracts from the Ministry of defense.
