The nearest to the Sun is a single star found super-earths.

Astronomers have discovered a planet-class supertall, which revolves around a star located at a distance of six light years from the Sun. As reports the Internet-the edition with reference to the mass of the discovered planet is about 3.2 Earth masses.

Star Bernada closest to the Sun a single star and biztradeshows shone in the night sky. Near it was discovered a planet called Barnard”s Star b. Its mass is larger than the earth approximately 3.2-fold, and its surface temperature reaches -170 degrees Celsius.

The planet was found using data that were collected seven scientific instruments placed on telescopes in different parts of the world, for 20 years of observations. The researchers were looking for the smallest change in the radiation spectrum of stars that could indicate the fluctuations in its trajectory caused by the influence of gravity of large rocky planet. “After very careful analysis we are 99% confident that the planet really is out there. However, we will continue to observe fast-moving star, to avoid possible, but unlikely, natural variations in star brightness that could be mistaken for caused by the planet,” said lead study author Ignacio Ribas.
